Many times our Wallingford volunteer fire fighters are called to a house fire or the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Fortunately, many times there are only minor damages and minor injuries but the trauma of such events can be extremely stressful to those involved, especially to a child. What better way to comfort a child during these times than with their very own huggable new friend...a soft teddy bear given by a concerned firefighter.
The Wallingford Volunteer Fire Department is presently in search of some assistance to help with their
Project Teddy Bear. This project is being developed to acquire approximately 6-12 plush, 14"-16" (inch) high teddy bears to be kept at the ready in the WVFD's fire trucks. These teddy bears will bring much needed comfort to a child at a time when their world seems uncertain and confusing. A cuddly teddy bear can be familiar, friendly and lovable.
The WVFD welcomes any ongoing donations of teddy bears or funding to purchase them. Teddy bears need only be simple, non-jointed, plush and have an appealing facial expression. Teddy bears can have clothing with the logo of the contributing organization printed or embroidered on it. Please consider that some bears will be given to young children so they should have embroidered snouts and non-removable eyes.
Any and all monetary contributions to the WVFD's
Project Teddy Bear are greatly appreciated. Contributions can be made by check or money order made payable to WVFD and mailed to WVFD, P.O. Box 280, Wallingford, VT 05773; or send a donation online via PayPal to
wvfd3300@yahoo.com (please note your contribution is for
Project Teddy Bear); or make a contribution directly to the WVFD by clicking on the Donate button below.
